Description
An older FD scale series of profiles I did back in 2013 of the American Douglas TBD Devastator. The Devastator was the US Navy's main torpedo bomber at the outbreak of World War II, but it was outmatched by the Japanese planes in use at the time. Pictured are several pre-war schemes (with bright, colorful paint schemes) and several wartime schemes with muted greys and blues. The last profile is the aircraft flown by Ensign George Gay of Torpedo Squadron EIGHT (VT-8) at the Battle of Midway.
