Description
HEERMANN (DD-532) as the ship appeared during the Battle off Samar (25 October 1944). HEERMANN was the only American destroyer to survive the engagement with the Japanese Center Force after making her torpedo run against the enemy battle line. The ship is shown in its disruptive Measure 32/24D camouflage pattern worn during the battle.
HEERMANN was later sold to Argentina, where it served as the ARA ALMIRANTE BROWN (D-10) until it was decommissioned and scrapped in 1981.
